E-Bike
My father and I enjoyed cycling and went on daily recreational rides together during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, when my kid sister wanted to join us, she couldn’t keep up with our pace. I then came up with the idea of building an e-cycle that she could use and not get tired when my father and I went on long rides.
I reflected on the idea further and realized that many people use bikes as their main mode of transportation for daily jobs, often traveling long distances. I wanted to build an e-bike that would be affordable for those who cannot afford to buy a scooter and for those who wish to avoid using carbon-emitting ride-hailing vehicles for short distances.
My project aims to offer a DIY kit for under Rs. 10,000 that people could assemble themselves or with help from a local cycle mechanic and convert their cycle into an e-bike.
