AeroModelling
It has always been my passion to design and understand intricate machinery. I enjoy breaking down a machine in my mind and fully comprehending its workings all at once. I’m drawn to aircraft and spacecraft design – it combines design and physics, two areas I’ve always been enthusiastic about. I am particularly fascinated by propulsion design, as I enjoy contemplating the various forces and energies acting upon an engine and considering ways to make it more efficient.
In the past, I have gained extensive experience in the aeronautical sector. In my solo pursuits, I have created many RC planes from scratch and have put them on display for various school exhibitions. I have a dream of sharing this joy of mini engineering with as many school students like me as possible by helping them with project based learning in their schools.
During my time at IIT Mandi, I undertook a project focused on designing and validating the concept of an electric VTOL for enhanced efficiency compared to a standard drone.
I have had the opportunity to build and design multiple planes, and the most fulfilling part for me is the sheer joy of seeing something I’ve built take to the skies. There’s an indescribable sense of pride in knowing that my hands constructed the plane soaring above. Additionally, I have delved into building rockets from scratch, from crafting the body to creating the propellant and experimenting with the propellant ratio. I used sulfur, charcoal, and potassium nitrate to make the propellant. Sadly, I was not able to build a successful rocket. My love for aeronautical engineering is deeply rooted in these experiences and the excitement they bring. And the part that I love the most is the aerodynamics and design of engines or aircraft.
